Voices from Africa Youth Foundation (VAY) was registered in Kenya in May 2024 as a Trust after successfully transitioning from Voluntary Youth Philanthropists (VYP) which was registered in 2000 as an NGO. This transition aimed at expanding the operational mandate of the organization to include more target groups, layers and sectors.
I joined VAY as a volunteer passionate about climate action. The mentorship I received opened doors to international youth networks and advocacy opportunities. VAY equips us with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to influence real change.
VAY’s community development and women’s empowerment projects have changed lives in our village. Through their economic empowerment training, I started a small agribusiness that now supports other women. VAY truly uplifts communities from within.
Before joining VAY’s leadership and mentorship programs, I struggled to find my voice in community spaces. Today, I am leading youth dialogues on governance and climate justice in my county. VAY helped me believe that young people are not just the future — we are the now.
